SYSC has created a U8 academy program with the goal of introducing players to a more rigorous level of soccer development.  The goal is to identify players and parents that express an interest in additional training opportunities for their child under the direction of a professional coach. 

The Academy program is designed for children with the desire, discipline, and maturity to work with a professional coach on improving technical soccer ability.

The Academy’s philosophy is one of playing to learn, minimizing the intense pressure to win. The Academy coaching staff is specially selected and trained to provide this introduction to a higher level of soccer in an environment conducive to Learning and having Fun! Challenging training sessions conducted by the Academy staff are the key ingredient in the personal development of the players. Training activities are devised to help each player improve technically (skills), tactically (decision-making), physically (fitness) and psychologically (mental toughness). The Academy focuses on the complete development of each player. Through guided discovery teaching methods, the Academy staff challenges each player to creatively solve problems that only the game itself can provide.
 

The choice to participate will be based entirely upon Parent/Player interest in exposing the player to this next level in soccer development. This program is in addition to recreation program your child is registered to.  Players will remain with their U8 recreational teams practice schedule and games on Saturdays. The U8 academy program will offer a Spring program (6 weeks each) of additional training session on Friday nights at 5:30-7:00 on Spartan fields.
